Alan Jones is a bagpipe aficionado who is known for both his playing and collecting of different types of bagpipes, and he enthusiastically enjoys both performing on them and exhibiting them whenever the opportunity arises. Alan possesses a world class collection of instruments, and has given museum exhibitions in Scotland, Wales and Canada, and also at the Lorient Inter-Celtic festival in Brittany, France. Following a performance with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra in 2012, he was invited to give a bagpipe exhibition and talk at the orchestra’s Symphony Hall, Montreal. Alan has been a participant at previous Chant de Vielles festivals, and we are pleased to welcome him back in 2016 to exhibit and demonstrate instruments from his collection.
