#7 Intensive Breton and Centre France dance workshops with Sarah Gaignard and Laurent Mandrile

Who should attend :  This workshop is for dancers of all levels. Dances will be shown from the basics, and elements of improvement will be shared for more experienced dancers.

Descriptif:  This workshop will be divided into two parts: the first focusing on Breton dances (gavottes, ridée 6 temps, laridées, kost ar c’hoat, etc.) and the second on dances from Central France, including the Mazurka (Bal Limousine, Bourrées, etc.). The workshops will be given by Laurent and Sarah from Balfolk Sherbrooke.

 Teaching program :

Two Balfolk enthusiasts, Sarah Gaignard et Laurent Mandrile have been running traditional dance workshops and festivals in Europe before founding Balfolk Sherbrooke, now one of the most active European traditional dance organizations in North America. With their gentle, organized and inclusive teaching methods, they know how to pass on their love of trad.

MATERIAL PROVIDED :
Participants will be able to film each dance following its teaching.

SCHEDULE :

Friday
9 h – 9 h 45: Welcome of participants
10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Master class
12 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Lunch*
2 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Master class

In addition to the core teaching program, trainees will have the opportunity to take part in optional public activities during the festival.
