_ ENGLISH _

In 2013, after a trip to France where Michel Bordeleau played the hurdy gurdy with La Bande de Vielles in Anost, he decides after being back in Quebec to have his own hurdy gurdy group : Le Vièlle Orchestre. He starts by having unformal reunions, then with time, the group grows to become what it is today. They have played at the Chants de Vielles Festival since 2014. They also played, among other places, at a few Bal Folk Montreal dancing nights and at La Bastringue. Their music is from Middle France, Britanny and also a few personal compositions from Michel.

The members of cuvée 2023 are Michel Bordeleau, Gilles Plante, Marie Friedmann, Isla Ogilvie, Bruno Cognyl Fournier, Élise Guay and Nicolas Gérardin.

So, come listen and dance with Le Vièlle Orchestre !

Please note that the concert-bal on Saturday, July 1 (6:30-7:30 p.m.) also marks the publication of Michel Bordeleau’s first collection of compositions for hurdy-gurdy.
