This year, as your festival celebrates its 20th anniversary, promises to be more unifying and festive than ever. The artistic steering committee is working on a program that will affirm the very essence of the festival: an invitation to passionate artists who wish to share their music in an intimate setting, where the river and the village provide the backdrop for artistic performance. And where the audience, open to discovery, sensitive and willing to listen, lends itself to the game of this unprecedented encounter that it is invited to experience.
Since 2004, Chants de Vielles has stood out on the Quebec festival circuit for the boldness and quality of its artistic programming. But, as many of you can attest, the event stands out for the warmth and authenticity of its welcome. The smiles are abundant and sincere!
The secret behind this exceptional welcome?
This merry band is drawn, among others, from the community of the village of Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu or the surrounding villages. It’s also made up of lovers of trad, folk and acoustic music, heritage and culture, who give so generously of their time to make this adventure possible.
And, of course, we invite you to do it again this year! And to those of you who have never volunteered before, we encourage you to experience the 20th anniversary from the inside, by joining our friendly and efficient troupe of “chantsdeviello” volunteers!
