Élise Guay performs the early music repertoire on flutes and early double-reed instruments. In the course of her encounters, she discovers the traditional music of France and Quebec. Bagpipes, bombards and other flutes were added to her arsenal.
She has performed with the ancient music ensembles La Nef, Via musique, Anonymus and Strada. A seasoned musician, she has played with Cirque du Soleil in over 1,400 performances of the prestigious “O” show in Las Vegas, and in Le Hangar des oubliés in summer 2013. She has participated in some twenty CD recordings and toured across Canada, the United States and Europe.
For the past 30 years, she has been sharing her passion with children through the “Artist in the School” program. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from Université Laval, where she was particularly interested in the overall development of young children through traditional Quebec music.
