Jourdan Thibodeaux

Jourdan Thibodeaux is the embodiment of the term ‘authentic’. Coming straight from the marshy woods of Louisiana’s Cypress Island, he is one of the few young people who are still fluent speakers of Cajun. With verve and sincerity, his powerful vocals and fiddle accompany his repertoire of original songs in Louisiana French. Jourdan Thibodeaux et Les Rôdailleurs have forged a reputation across the United States for imbuing ancient traditions with incomparable energy. Dubbed the “future of Cajun music” by Acadiana Profile magazine, Thibodeaux is appearing at Chants de Vielles for the first time, accompanied by top Cajun musicians Grammy-nominated Joe Savoy on guitar and Blake Miller on accordion.
